At the same time, youth mental health challenges are increasing worldwide. The challenge is global. The opportunity is local.

Fatherhood and Basketball Academies (FaBA) is the first nonprofit initiative designed around the global principles of basketball—using the game as a framework to strengthen father-child relationships and build healthier families.

How FaBA Works

While children attend practice, fathers meet nearby for coach-led conversations about fatherhood, guided by the global principles of basketball. The six-session program is simple, empowering, and designed to scale across communities.

The Program

FaBA meets fathers where they already are. It is a structured community experience built around the game and commitment to children.

Children (ages 10–12) attend basketball practice
Fathers gather nearby (often over coffee)
Guided conversations on fatherhood take place by trained leaders
Discussions are purposeful, structured, and coach-led
Sessions run 6 weeks (September–December)
